Break out the BBQ
Posted on 27 September 2011
Spring is upon us, the weather is warming up and inviting you outdoors which means…time to break out the BBQ!
Give it a good dusting off, pull out some old recipes, invite a few friends over (does the house need a spring clean first?) and celebrate with a barbecue.
You might first like to check that the gas bottle is in working order and not going to conk out before the snags are cooked through. This is more easily done with a gas bottle gauge rather than by picking it up and shaking it, resorting to your “when was the last time I filled it” memory or going with the “ah, she’ll be right!” method and serving up raw beef. Even if you do try to pass it off as carpaccio. The handy gas gauge lets you know how much gas is left in the bottle. And it is magnetic so it can be removed from one empty bottle and transferred to another with ease.
Cooking safely requires the right tools. The right tools also helps to make you look impressive – like a bloke who knows what he’s doing. Good quality stainless steel BBQ tools will make barbequing a breeze and will go a long way to avoiding burns and dropping sausages.
Remember your bloke’s apron and your stubby holder, so your non-tong using hand doesn’t get cold and your beer warm!
Bon appetit!
